November thoughts

It’s been a while – mainly because I keep talking myself out of the value of this newsletter.

Reason being, like many, I’ll overthink things.

Weighing up the pros of spending time doing something and then ultimately doing nothing instead (maybe you can relate).

But this week I realised something that I wanted to share.

Listening to books actually changed my life…

Around 8 years ago, I started listening to audiobooks.

It wasn’t necessarily the contents of a specific book that changed everything.

But the belief the authors had on the topics they were covering.

Whenever I listened to a book, the author’s belief in what they were saying came through.

It made me realise I should have that same belief in myself.

8 years on and I still find it has the same effect – ironically prompting me to write this newsletter.

I can only share the impact it had on me, but it may have similar effects for others.

New house

A long time coming – but it feels like this happened in a flash.

Towards the end of October, we were wondering if we should move house.

Fast forward 3 weeks and we’d sold ours and had an offer accepted on a new house.

Truthfully, it’s kind of scary.

But you also need to leave your comfort zone to grow.

We’re moving in walking distance of our current house – but moving to a much nicer estate.

A 4 bed, detached house. It needs a lot of TLC, which will take some time.

But it’s a house we can see ourselves investing in and living in for 20+ years.

Work

2025 is looking promising – I’m pretty much booked up for Q1.

I have some exciting projects to look forward to – notably a PWA and headless e-commerce site.

Other than that, I’ve signed contracts for another project for Feb-Apr.

I can’t give too much away, but they’re a branding agency who do incredible work.

I was going to reach out about working with them, but they beat me to it and contacted me.

Typical stack for me other than null Contentful.

YouTube channel

Something I want to get into is video content.

Partly for personal growth, but also as a creative outlet.

I plan to document my experiences – a mix of freelance-related stuff and general lifestyle videos.

For example, I’d create videos like this blog post on Money how I manage my money as a freelancer using Monzo & Notion.

Would you find this sort of content interesting on null YouTube?

TaxScouts

Tax return

I’ve been using TaxScouts for the past 4 years to help with my tax returns. The amount of time it saves me is well worth the price. It only took a few hours to provide the information I needed to complete my tax return this year.

The greatness mindset

For anyone doubting themselves, this is a great listen to distil some belief into yourself – as it did for me.
